Brown Paper and a Teddy Bear

This is something easy and fun we always do throughout the year with projects. Print out a shape of whatever you're working on that week, and just put random dots of glue inside that shape. Have scraps of construction paper or tissue paper in little pieces already set out on the table for them and just let em grab pieces and place it on the paper.

We love doing this with a lot of projects because a lot of times when you let them glue it they either put way too much or not enough. Another good thing about putting dots of glue on the paper for them is that whatever is being pasted on there will stick where it needs to be. For example, I didn't put any glue on the face cause I wanted that to be blank (besides the ears).

After they did that I gave them some pink tissue paper for the ears. Final project will be posted later.

Grew an Apple Tree

Found this blank apple tree with a poem and put it on red construction paper. I was teaching them about apples and the different colors they are. I used red, green, yellow bingo markers for the kiddies to use to color apples.

I told them which one to color at first, along with me holding their hand around the marker so they could understand better. doing this made them not want to just bang the marker all over the paper randomly.

Then I let them do it by themselves when we got to the second and third colors. They loved it! To make it even easier (since there's only a few 2yr olds) I sat with one kid at a time doing the green first while all the other kiddies watched. After everyone did the green, then we did red, and then yellow.

Hand prints

One of my favorite crafts to do wit the kids is hand print projects. So I started to do some research and came up with the idea to do a different hand print each month. For example, a tree for September,a spider for halloween and a turkey for Thanksgiving etc.. Then at the end of the year put it all together to make a book and give it to the parents for a gift. I found some poems that I'll throw in there too. I'm so excited to start this project!

Well here is the first post!!... Excited to share all my classroom ideas and crafts we do throughout the school year. We teach 2 to 4 year olds at our Nursery School.
